Integration of FlowFit and memoQ

How has the integration between FlowFit and memoQ improved your translation project management?

The integration between FlowFit and memoQ has significantly streamlined our translation project management. By enabling us to create projects just once, it has saved considerable time and reduced manual effort. While there are still some functionalities in development and occasional assistance is needed for specialized projects from both FlowFit and memoQ teams, the scope of our questions and challenges has steadily diminished. The integration is proving to be more efficient with each phase, allowing us to focus on delivering quality results faster.

What specific features of the integration have streamlined your workflow?

The ability to choose the project templates and filters directly in FlowFit has been a big help, as it is much more user-friendly than the corresponding process in memoQ. I do think it would be helpful to be able to adjust filters on a case-by-case basis in FlowFit for files like Excel, where what needs to be translated can change each time.

The allocation of resources is significantly easier and quicker in FlowFit, so that saves a lot of time for the project managers.

Creating and updating workflows is a relatively simple process that allows us to develop workflows for our clients’ very specific needs, rather than trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

How has the ability to use FlowFit alongside memoQ impacted your team’s efficiency?

Overall, it has undoubtedly increased all our teams’ efficiency—linguists and project managers alike—in that everything is done in one place, and with few exceptions, all relevant information is available in the same place as well: weighted word counts, stats on fuzzy and exact matches, repetitions, estimated time for completion, etc.

Could you describe any improvements in project delivery time or quality since using both tools together?

Since integrating FlowFit and memoQ, we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in both project delivery time and quality. The automation in workflows has been a game-changer, allowing us to streamline processes and eliminate repetitive tasks, which has significantly sped up project timelines. The dashboard feature is particularly valuable, providing our linguists with a clear overview of all ongoing tasks, helping them stay organized and efficient. Tracking project progress and ensuring timely delivery has also become much easier, leading to more consistent and higher-quality results.

Implementation Process

How was your experience during the implementation phase of FlowFit and memoQ integration?

Both Consoltec and memoQ offered excellent guided support throughout the implementation phase, enabling us to meet a tight go-live deadline of just two months. While the core integration was completed on schedule, we continued to explore and configure additional features to maximize the full potential of the system. Their responsiveness and expertise were key to ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

What challenges did you initially face, and how were they addressed during the implementation?

By far the biggest initial challenge we faced had to do with the fact that we had two different implementations: while we had an excellent understanding of FlowFit, and were given an in-depth review of memoQ, the first couple weeks of use was a lot of trial and error, much more than we would have expected but a lot less than other solutions we acquired and were more complex to implement. Both teams were very helpful, offering assistance as much as possible while the kinks were worked out, and that certainly made the transition easier over time, but I think that some more hands-on experience prior to launch would have gone a long way.

How smooth was the data migration or setup process?

Despite the common challenges associated with migrating data between different platforms, the memoQ migration process was remarkably smooth and required only minimal fine-tuning. Likewise, data migration into FlowFit was efficient, with the exception of certain elements like pricing, where differences in data structures between the platforms required some adjustments. Overall, the process was seamless and well-managed.

Was the training provided sufficient to get your team up and running quickly?

The training provided was solid, and by the end of the initial sessions, we felt equipped with the necessary knowledge to move forward with implementation. However, since FlowFit and memoQ were taught separately, some challenges arose that could have been prevented with a few joint training sessions. Our recommendation for both companies to integrate the tools more cohesively in training to help better anticipate and address potential issues that surfaced during the actual implementation phase.

How would you describe the support you received during the setup and implementation process?

The support we received from both Consoltec and memoQ during the setup and implementation process was exceptional. They provided comprehensive, hands-on guidance every step of the way, ensuring a smooth and efficient implementation. Their expertise and responsiveness were invaluable in addressing any challenges and ensuring the success of the project.

Were your questions or issues addressed promptly and efficiently?

Yes, all of our questions and issues were addressed promptly and efficiently. The support teams were highly responsive and provided clear, effective solutions whenever needed, ensuring a smooth process throughout.

Can you share any specific examples where our support team went above and beyond to assist you?

We have sent numerous requests to the support team over the past several months, and we have always been impressed by the time they take to resolve any problems we run into. We meet constantly with the support team, and they always finds a solution and explains exactly what went wrong and how to fix it.

How confident do you feel about the ongoing support and maintenance for FlowFit and memoQ?

We have a high level of confidence in the ongoing support and maintenance provided by both companies. Consoltec and memoQ have proven to be highly reliable in this regard, and we trust their commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. Their leadership and proactive approach reassure us that we will receive the necessary support as our needs evolve.
